Brief Introduction to Meghalaya High Court Judges Library

        The Hon’ble Judge’s library of High Court of Meghalaya has a collection of approximately 28,000 documents. The library caters to the needs and requirements of the Hon’ble Judges of the High Court. The users of the library are the Hon’ble Judges, officers and staff of the Registry and occasionally some senior advocates. The judges’ library also maintains workable collections in three residential libraries of the Hon’ble Judges. The library aims at providing quick reference service to cater to the information requirements of the Hon’ble judges besides providing references during court proceedings. The library is equipped with high-end computers and other electronic equipment to provide in-house and other online services.

Library Collection

        The Hon’ble Judges Library of the High Court of Meghalaya has a significant collection of legal documents which include books, reports, government publication both Central & State. It subscribes to a number of leading Indian journals, a few foreign journals besides the Regional journal like the North East Journal & the Guwahati Law Times. At the time of the inauguration of the High Court of Meghalaya, the collection was about 15,072 books until date the number of books has risen to 28,000.
